How long do I have to file a will contest case in Florida?

Video Transcript

In Florida if you receive the Petition for Administration by formal notice, you have 20 days from the date that you receive the formal notice to contest the Will. If you receive the Notice of Administration by formal notice, then you have three months from the date that you receive the Notice of Administration to contest the Will. If you do not receive the Petition for Administration or the Notice of Administration by formal notice, then you can contest the Will at any time prior to the time that the probate case is closed. Even if the probate case is closed, there’s a potential that you can file a lawsuit in civil court for intentional interference with an expectancy of inheritance.
