Can I prevent a daughter in law or son in law from benefitting from my child's inheritance if they get a divorce?

Video Transcript

Instead of leaving assets to your child outright upon your death, you may want to consider leaving assets in trust for that child upon your death. By leaving it in trust, you're protecting your child from any creditors, or even divorces. If that trust never terminates, and continues in perpetuity, that protection will last all the way through until the child's death. In addition, upon that child's death, you can assure that the assets stay in your blood line by having the assets passed to your grandchildren, great grandchildren and so on, pursuant to the terms of the trust.
