Video Transcript

Certain assets pass outside of a will or a trust. For example, if you have an asset and you add your beneficiaries a joint owner of that asset. That asset will pass to the joint owner upon your death, outside of probate, outside of a will or a trust by operation of law. In addition, assets such as retirement accounts and life insurance pass to the names of beneficiary under the retirement account or a policy.
